REDfusion produced two videos to support Baw Baw Food Relief in promoting their Purple Bin Christmas Drive 2023.
Anne Pascoe, BBFR Manager, spoke to us about the increasing need in the local community for assistance with basic food necessities. In 2023 an additional 300 families, many with children, sought the help of Baw Baw Food Relief – this is staggering!
A number of local businesses, including supermarkets, generously donate products throughout the year, together with community groups and individuals. To make it so very easy for the general public to share love and joy at Christmas with those who are struggling, purple bins have been conveniently positioned at the front of Warragul and Drouin supermarkets to receive donations of both essentials and treats. What a beautiful opportunity to serve others!
Sharyn Damen, Assistant Manager at Drouin Woolworths, spoke from the heart about her satisfaction in having BBFR daily take surplus food, rather than it going to waste. Some days there will be one trolleyful and other times multiple trolleys brimming with goods. Woolies and BBFR have been working together to help meet the needs of those doing it tough for a number of years.
Sharyn encourages Woolies’ clients to get behind the food drive – donating much appreciated essentials, as well as special items to make Christmas a happy time.
